Hawerkamp and Knopp take over the management of Eckert & Ziegler Eurotope GmbH

Berlin, 12 March 2008. The Executive Board of Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen- und Medizintechnik AG, which specializes in nuclear medical and radiation therapy products and services (ISIN DE 0005659700), has appointed Dr. Andrea Hawerkamp and Dr. Roger Knopp as the new managing directors of its subsidiary, the special-equipment manufacturer Eckert & Ziegler Eurotope GmbH. They will be replacing Dr. André Heß, who has been appointed to the Executive Board of Eckert & Ziegler AG, effective 1 March 2008, and has only remained in the Eurotope management for a transition period.

Ms. Hawerkamp is a biologist and earned her doctorate at the University of Bielefeld in 1999 with work on hybrid cell cultures. After working as a laboratory director and product manager in several biotechnology enterprises in Bielefeld and Berlin, she assumed the management of the Marketing and Sales of synthesis systems at Eurotope in 2005. She will in the future be responsible for managing the areas of customer service and sales & marketing. Mr. Knopp is to take over responsibility for the areas of production, development and quality management at Eurotope. After earning his doctorate in radiochemistry at the Munich University of Technology in 1996, the chemist worked as a scientist in Munich, Karlsruhe and Berkeley, California until 2002. Since 2002, he has been at Eurotope as a project manager, most recently as manager of the Development Department for radiochemical products and processes.

"With the appointment of Hawerkamp and Knopp to the management of Eurotope, the stage is set for the continued success of our synthesis equipment family Modular Lab," said Heß, who is responsible for the radiopharmaceuticals segment within Eckert & Ziegler. "Both of them have been substantially involved in building this segment. With the competence and experience which they will be bringing into the management, we are aiming for a considerable expansion of our market share within the next few years, and will systematically be expanding our product range."

Eckert & Ziegler Eurotope GmbH produces and markets facilities and automation technology for the production of radiopharmaceuticals. They are sold under the name "Modular Lab," and in 2007 achieved an annual sales volume of over €2 million.
