Fritz Oesterle reinforces Eckert & Ziegler Supervisory Board

Berlin, 14 December 2011. The lawyer and long-term former CEO of MDAX-listed Celesio AG, Dr. Fritz Oesterle (59), will reinforce the Supervisory Board of Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen- und Medizintechnik AG from January 2012. He replaces the fund manager, Holger Bürk, who will lay down his mandate as of 31 December 2011 after a three-year period of office as the expectations associated with his entry into the Supervisory Board “were more than satisfied”. A direct exchange of both Supervisory Board members is possible as according to the statutes the founders of Eckert & Ziegler AG are entitled to delegate a member of the Supervisory Board.

“I would like to thank Mr Bürk for the trustworthy cooperation and his many years of work. Due to his associations with the financial markets he was a valuable supplement to our body, in particular following the turbulences on the capital markets which began during the course of the Lehman-Brothers crisis. I am now pleased with Dr. Oesterle to be able to welcome a distinguished expert from the health sector. He will help us to continue to press ahead with the orientation of Eckert & Ziegler AG to radiopharmaceuticals which record strong growth”, Dr. Andreas Eckert, CEO of Eckert & Ziegler AG, declared.

Dr. Fritz Oesterle is a lawyer and, inter alia, a member of the supervisory board of Landesbank Baden-Wuerttemberg and of Schwarz Unternehmenstreuhand (Kaufland, Lidl). He was previously CEO of Celesio AG for twelve years. Dr. Oesterle is also a member of various bodies, to include the health committee of the German Chamber of Commerce (DIHK), Berlin, the health committee of the Economic Affairs Council [Wirtschaftsrat] Germany, and the advisory board of Société Générale in Germany. Besides, Dr. Oesterle is the British Honorary Consul in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

With around 580 employees the Eckert & Ziegler Group (ISIN DE0005659700) is among the largest providers of isotope components for radiation therapy and nuclear medicine worldwide.
