Successful First Quarter for Eckert & Ziegler

Berlin, 06.05.2002. According to preliminary calculations, Eckert & Ziegler, a Berlin-based specialist for low-level radioactive components, finished the first quarter of 2002 with revenues of 8.1 mm EUR and earnings before taxes of 1.1 mm EUR. The numbers represent an increase against last year's first quarter of about 13% in revenues and 32% in earnings. Strongest growth was registered in the cardio-vascular and oncological product areas, which increased by 118% and 21%, respectively. The extraordinary expenses for the development of new therapeutic products against cancer at NEMOD Immuntherapie AG are not yet included in the above earnings.
