At the site Braunschweig Eckert & Ziegler operates its own radiological measurement laboratory, which is accredited by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS). The DAkks is the national accreditation body for the Federal Republic of Germany.

The radiological measurement laboratory offers a wide range of calibration services, e.g.

• Measurement and assessment of radiological data for the release of radioactive waste (e.g. registration of measurements carried out in the control area)
• Calibration of reference sources and measurement systems for environmental monitoring using alpha-, beta- or photon emission
• Calibration of radioactive samples (e.g. reference and tracer solutions, materials using custom configurations in different geometries and compositions)

All measurement systems used in our laboratory are calibrated using radioactivity standards which are fully traceable to radioactivity standards of  the National Laboratories such as the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt PTB (D), the National Institute of Standards and Technology NIST (USA) and the National Physics Laboratory NPL (GB). Also, our measurement laboratory is subject to continuous surveillance audits from the accreditation bodies.
