Policies
Licensing Requirements
It is company policy to require written verification of the customer’s Agreement State or NRC radioactive materials license for all items. No orders will be processed without a copy of the customer’s license on file at Eckert & Ziegler. This may be either a copy of the applicable portion of the license or a signed document on company letterhead stating that the customer’s license authorizes possession of the desired items in the form and quantity described on the purchase order. Compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations concerning procurement and possession of radioactive materials is the responsibility of the customer. International customers must provide a purchase order, End Use Statement, license and containers (if required).
Availability
Most items listed in the catalogue can be shipped within 14 to 45 days from the receipt of the customer’s order. First orders may be subject to an added 7-10 day delay if export authorizations are required by government of the country of manufacture.
Returns and Claims Policy
Due to the nature of our products, all sales are final and no item can be returned for credit unless the customer has demonstrated that the product does not meet the specifications set forth in the purchase order. For most products, such a claim must be made within 21 days of the date of delivery of the item (“date of delivery” is defined as the shipment date indicated on the airway bill for the goods). For isotope products that are subject to radiation decomposition of 1% or more per month, or which possess half-lives of 90 days or less, claims must be made not later than 14 days from the delivery date. Credit will be given for products that are found not meeting specifications. Eckert & Ziegler will pay the return freight back to the manufacturer for materials found not meeting specifications, as well as freight for replacement products.
Shipping and Customs Clearance
Shipments are expedited exworks from the Eckert & Ziegler facility in Burbank, California or from nearest international airport located near the manufacturer. Unless otherwise agreed with the Customer, Eckert & Ziegler will pre-pay freight charges and will add these costs and a service fee, if applicable, to the customer invoice. Shipments are normally made by commercial air-express or air-freight services. Shipping containers and packaging used in deliveries conform to all regulations specified by international and domestic regulatory authorities governing the transportation of hazardous materials. Radioisotope shipments are typically made in nonreturnable, disposable type “A” containers. Customs clearance, when required, shall be performed by a qualified Customs Broker engaged by Eckert & Ziegler. Service fees charged by the Customs broker shall be included as a line item reimbursable expense on the Customer’s invoice.
